Hitachi is a well-known Japanese multinational, doing business in a range of industries, now also including IT, AI and big data. However, Hitachi started out as a electrics company in Tokyo, founded by an electrical engineer in 1910. One of their first products was a 5-horsepower induction motor used for copper mining. Soon after, the company switched focus to transportation, creating the first large-scale electric train locomotive in Japan.
In 2021, Hitachi and Honda set up a joint venture in which they merged their auto parts divisions to create Hitachi Astemo (stands for: “Advanced Sustainable Technologies for Mobility”), now one of the largest aftersales suppliers for the global auto industry, with annual sales of over $17 billion USD.
Building on over 100 years of experience in developing and manufacturing electric appliances, Hitachi offers a various range of products, applicable on anything from cars and trucks to applications in the agricultural, construction and marine industries.

Hitachi alternators provide durability and longevity and are a popular choice for automotive and agricultural applications.
Two of our top selling original alternators are the LR1100-508 (100A) and LR1180-856 (180A). The 508 is used on several Opel models like Astra 1.7 CDTi, Corsa 1.7 and Meriva 1.7. It can replace Hitachi and Isuzu alternators. The 856 is installed on Audi’s A6 and A7 3.0 cars. It replaces several older Hitachi alternators, as well as several Volkswagen options.
Our replacement Hitachi alternators are a popular cost-effective alternative to the original models. We stock over 60 different Hitachi alternators. These alternators come in 12V and 24V versions, ranging from 25 Ampere to 180 Ampere.
The JNDA-108, with an internal regulator, is used on Isuzu applications. Our smallest alternator in our arsenal is the JHA-39, that is compatible with the Takeuchi Excavator TB070, it replaces Hitachi LR225-88.
Hitachi supplies some of the biggest American vehicle manufacturers in the world. It is the standard starter for many Chevrolet, Hummer and GMC models.

The Hitachi S14-100D starter is one of our most popular starters from Hitachi. It’s applied on Chevrolet models manufactured from 2001 to 2016, such as the Express 2500 and 3500, the 6.6L Kodiak and the V Series Pickup. GMC models include Savana, Sierra and the C4500 Topkick. It is also applied on 2006 Hummer models.
We also offer replacement starters for Hitachi, such as the JHS-38 starter that is used on Takeuchi mini diggers and several Yanmar appliances.
