BermanTec Digest November 2021: Europort 2021 | The European Year of Rail
Dear customer,
Welcome to our November 2021 company update. As part of the European Year of Rail, in this edition we will highlight how trains are connecting the continent, and what BermanTec offers for this remarkable industry. We’d also like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to our customers for visiting us at Europort 2021 and share a few memorable moments of this year’s event.
Rail transportation
Europe boasts the second largest and most dense rail system in the world: over 201,000 kilometers of railway connects the continent. It is by far the safest mode of land transportation and accounts for only 0,4% of total European transport greenhouse emissions. This has been achieved by continuous efforts to make rail transportation more sustainable, with more than 75% of total kilometers travelled facilitated through trains powered by electricity
Powerful Alternator line-up
As a reliable supplier for some of the biggest railway organizations in Europe, we offer high-power, durable starters and alternators for Cummins, Bosch and other train applications. With over 20 years of experience in this industry, we understand the importance of providing stable, long-lasting and low maintenance products, such as the Brushless Delstar Alternator range Bosch replacements. Prestolite range for rail use
Prestolite MS7 series starters are equipped on a wide variety of trains throughout Europe and America. The MS7-417A for example, is used on the Cummins QSK19 engine, which powers the Class 180 trains in Great Britain. This 9kW model is currently being replaced by the more powerful M28R3840SET 24V – 12kW version, available here.
Other starters from the MS7 series are used on engines for MTU, a Rolls-Royce brand that supplies railway solutions all over the world, from Germany, New Zealand to South Africa and Sri Lanka. Also in our collection are the MS7-501A, the MS7-502A and the MS7-510A.
