Dear customer,

This is our BermanTec Marine update of May 2023, where we highlight our complete marine product catalogue and invite you to join us at Maritime Industry, one of the largest marine exhibitions in the Netherlands taking place at the end of May. Boating season has also officially been opened, so this is the perfect time to showcase our collection specifically geared towards yachts, speedboats, sailing boats, jet skis and other marine vessels.

Marine engines

There are some essential differences in marine motors versus general motors. Marine motors are obviously built to withstand a wet environment. The components of marine motors have therefore been made of corrosion resistant materials, which is not commonly seen in any other type of motor. Marine engines are also heavy-duty motors, which are often used to the full extent of its power to keep the boat moving through the water.

Marine Alternators

Marine alternators have higher power demands than those used for regular vehicles, as they are often also utilized as power navigating equipment, water makers, pumps and other devices. Since marine engines are installed in enclosed compartments to protect them from water, most marine alternators must be self-cooling and they also must be double isolated.

We supply alternators with an output of up to 600 amps for 24V applications. Those alternators are mostly isolated with different mounting options such as J-180, PAD or saddle mounting.

Our supply program consists of variety of brands for marine alternators, such as Prestolite, Bosch, Delstar and Delco Remy. 8SC3157V and 8SC3160V are popular high-performance Prestolite alternators and work well for marine engines of Cummins, Caterpillar, MTU, Perkins and Volvo. For Delco marine alternators we supply both the lightest series 7SI to the heavier duty alternators 30SI, 33SI and 36SI, used for Caterpillar, Waukesha and Cummins motors.

We are also able to offer 24V replacement alternators for the Bosch T1 series, starting with 155A, or on request with an enormous increase in performance up to 250A.

Marine Starters

Our starter program includes starters with an output of 1.7kW (12V) to a maximum of 15kW (24V). For MTU motors we recommend the Prestolite series MS7, S152, M105R, and the M125R series for Cummins and Caterpillar applications and the 1327A series or S115 for use on Perkins, Lister Petter, CAV (Lucas) and Dorman Diesel engines. We also offer Delco series PG260 for Mercury Marine and Volvo Penta, as well as Delco’s heavy-duty line 50MT for Caterpillar, MTU and Cummins motors.
