Dear customer,

Keeping your trucks running efficiently starts with having the right rotating components. A reliable starter ensures quick engine ignition, while a high-performance alternator keeps all onboard systems powered. Choosing the right parts means fewer breakdowns, lower maintenance costs, and improved fleet performance.

In this month’s digest, we highlight top-tier starters and alternators for leading European truck brands like DAF, Mercedes-Benz, Scania, and Volvo. Whether you’re looking for a high-output alternator or a heavy-duty starter, we’ve got you covered with industry-leading options from Bosch, Mitsubishi Electric, Delco Remy, Prestolite, and many more.

Read on to find the best solutions for your fleet and keep your trucks on the road with confidence.

Every truck depends on a strong starter motor to deliver a powerful crank, ensuring quick and efficient ignition—especially in cold weather or under heavy loads. A failing or underpowered starter can cause delayed engine starts, increased battery strain, and unnecessary downtime, which can directly impact delivery schedules and operational efficiency.

On the other hand, the alternator keeps the battery charged and supplies power to critical truck functions such as headlights, GPS systems, and climate control. Choosing a high-performance alternator ensures consistent voltage supply, fuel efficiency, and longer-lasting electrical components.

With over 45 years’ experience in the industry, we understand how important it is to supply a wide range of products. As one of the larger suppliers of alternators & starters, we cover all the biggest names in the commercial transportation business. See the overview of brands below:

Choosing the right alternator is key to ensuring durability and optimal truck performance. The most popular models for heavy-duty trucks often come with a Bosch T1 mount (60° left or right), ensuring compatibility and reliable performance.

Among them, Delstar offers a version with a separate regulator, including the 100-18262E and 100-18264E models. Additionally, Almott has a 24V 350A heavy-duty brushless alternator.

Often-chosen suggestion for Mercedes, Scania and DAF trucks is this 24V – 110A Prestolite Alternator AVI144S3001. Some of our newer alternators are the 861346 and 861390 models, used on Scania 94, 114 Series and the Volvo FH II series (after 2012 models) respectively.

The Bosch 0124655005 alternator is a 24V, 90A unit used in various Iveco trucks, including the Trakker N190T31, N190T33, and N190T36 (with 7.8L engines, 2007-2013), and the EuroCargo 110-220 (6.7L engine, 2015 onward).

This alternator is designed to meet the high electrical demands of heavy-duty applications, ensuring a stable power supply for critical vehicle systems. Its 28V output makes it ideal for commercial vehicles operating with multiple electronic components, including lighting, air systems, and onboard electronics. Given its widespread use in Iveco’s fleet of trucks and construction vehicles, this unit is known for its reliability and durability in tough working conditions.

The Mitsubishi A4TR5692 alternator is a 24V, 100A unit used in heavy-duty Scania trucks, specifically models like the S370, S410, S450, S500, and S540 with DC13 (12.7L) engines from 2016 onward.

Mercedes-Benz utilizes the Mitsubishi M9T85371 (24V – 7.5kW) & M9T85471 (24V – 7kW) starters in the Several Actros and Arocs models. These trucks are often used in heavy-duty and construction settings, where reliable starting power is essential. Given the rigorous conditions these vehicles operate in, the starters are designed for durability, capable of withstanding constant use in high-stress environments.

Mitsubishi also makes starters like the M9T61971 (24V – 5.5kW) and M9T66771 (24V – 5.5kW) that are used in several Volvo FMX and FH II models, used on construction sites and in long-haul logistics.

The Hitachi S13-559B starter is installed in Nissan NT500 and Renault Mascott 130 and 150 series (3.0L engine). These medium-duty commercial vehicles require a strong and reliable starter due to their frequent stop-and-go usage in urban and regional delivery operations.

The Bosch starter 0001241001 is used on Scania G-series trucks (G230, G270, G310, G320, G360) with DC9 engines from 2007 onward. Bosch starters like this one are designed for heavy-duty commercial vehicles, providing the necessary power for reliable engine cranking in demanding conditions.
